Personal Website part 3: Functional Prototypes and Style Tiles

Create functional “prototypes.” I say prototypes because we want to get site operational and functional. A working but boring site is better than a broken but pretty site, so get the site working before you try and add style.

After the site is working, you can create a style tile. You can do one or more, but I want you to practice this. It will be good if you are working on a real site with a real client. You can create your style tile with InDesign or however you want.

Remember, it’s normal to go back and forth between the three phases of web development (1. content planning and wireframe, 2. prototype, 3. style and css). But try to keep it to a minimum, and try to avoid being in phase 3 and then backtracking to phase 1.
